Buttered Toast & Sea Salt
Here we have captured our morning ritual of slathering pure New Zealand butter over rye toast. That savoury, salty delicious morning get up and go… is now available in chocolate! Yum.
We use Vogels Original to flavour this bar, that’s right…there is actual bread in the chocolate! Combining Ecuador cocoa, butter and Vogels we have created a buttered toast flavoured bar.
Ingredients: Cocoa solids 48% (cocoa beans, organic cocoa butter), sugar, bread 12% (water, wheat flour, mixed grains 24% (wheat, rye), skim milk powder, wheat gluten, iodised salt, white vinegar, yeast), milk solids 13% (milk powder, milk fat), pink Himalayan salt, non gmo sunflower lecithin. May contain nuts, sesame, soy.
Hogarth Craft Chocolate is born out of a passion for chocolate, craftsmanship and art.
We source the highest quality cacao beans from around the world to create small batches of chocolate using traditional techniques. Our small factory is located in Nelson, New Zealand where we sort, roast, crush and classify, winnow, grind and conche, age, melt, temper, mold, and wrap all by hand.
Our process uses minimal ingredients and is focused on preserving the natural flavours within the cacao to create a chocolate with a true cacao flavour, a flavour lost in industrialised processing.
Together with Ana Aceves of Sugarcube Studios we developed a chocolate bar and packaging design which illustrates Karl’s journey from sailor to chocolate maker, and the voyage the cacao takes to reach our distant pacific island.

Our products are shipped at room temperature.
When shipping during warmer months or to regions with high temperatures, there is a risk that chocolate may melt or deform due to the heat during transit.
We regret to inform you that we cannot accept returns, exchanges, or issue refunds for products that have melted or deteriorated due to temperature increases.
Please acknowledge these risks before placing your order. If you are concerned about the condition of the product, we recommend purchasing during cooler months.
